Rude awakening!

In an effort to make my transition to ashram life less jarring, I'm trying to get up early in the morning. Since I got laid off and was a little bummed out for a while, I got into the habit of sleeping in. I think I've been sleep deprived my entire professional life because since I've been out of work, I've been sleeping 9-10 hours a night!
I set my alarm and managed to get out of bed my 6:30 this morning. It was nice to have time for all the self care practices prescribed for yoga people. In America, many people use moisturizer with petroleum. I think that is crazy. That's like rubbing gasoline all over your body. I try not to put anything on my body that I wouldn't put in my body. I switched from using pre-made products to using organic food oils and essential oils for my self care. My skin and hair feel great! And most of the time I smell pretty.
Day two of detox! How clean can I get before I go away?! I'm not down with that Master cleanse thing. I think it's not good for some people. The cleanse I'm doing is a little less radical and emphasizes rebuilding as you clease. Lots of green super foods, veggie juice, fruits and a little rice with mung beans.
